This one has been sitting awhile, but here we go! Have you ever had deja vu? The feeling like you’ve done this before. Or just maybe that something is overly familiar, but you can’t quite put your finger on it? Well, as I see more Ghost Hunters return to TV and more paranormal shows in general on the airwaves again, I feel like it’s 2006 when I look around. We have the “Boys” back together, and their show is on air with Nick Groff, Zak Bagans, Katrina Weidman, and of course, Josh Gates is around somewhere, Indiana Jones’ it up. My question is, why? The paranormal TV show bubble burst big time long ago, and many shows were sent to cancellation hell… And like any good entertainment demon, have recently resurfaced with a vengeance? Or have I finally become that old school guy yelling at the new, younger para kids to get off my haunted lawn?
What’s next? Will we see another “live Exorcism”? Maybe I’ll get blocked by Chip Coffey again, or maybe I’ll witness another Twitter (X) battle between entertainers like Coffey and Bully “Bubba” Ray Dudley… Ok, I’m honest here, I’d love to see that again… Or maybe the only thing paranormal on TV really is “reality” TV.
Oh, how I wish we all could go back to the “golden days” of my fan/hobbyist/investigator life seeing “one of us” on TV…. Or maybe, just maybe… TV doesn’t matter…. *the internet gasps and explodes with tik toks and youtube stars* and no matter what you refer to yourself as, why do you love these “Shows”: Is it because you want to be famous? Do you want to know what others are doing or have tried? Are you too scared to do it yourself and want to live vicariously through them?
I think the paranormal community could do wonders in all aspects to stop putting people on pedestals and start talking and collaborating on new ideas, techniques, and ways of doing things. If I wanted to be a star gazer, I’d be in MUFON, but I now I have a proton pack & dammit I want to bust some heads…. In a spiritual sense, of course. I plan on posting here soon, some forms and other helpful things for investigators & groups to use.
