Over the years I’ve witnessed and sadly been part of paranormal drama, whether it was by choice or happenstance it happens way to often when paranormal people gather – as those who’ve been around can honestly tell you. The question I have is why does this seem to happen so much? Is it because of lack of a governing body? Maybe people’s egos are out of control? Could it be just people being people? Sure, they are fit to a point but to me it boils down to passion. Why do I think passion is the root cause? Many investigators, researchers, or hobbyists I’ve met over the years have similar qualities – they care deeply. For some all they care about is the fame, for others the knowledge, for some even just the validation of past experiences or unanswered questions, and even more about furthering the science of the paranormal – you know truth is out there. They all have a passion for what they do, even the enthusiasts that just love anything and everything paranormal have a passion for it.
Passions can cause tensions when people collide with different view points other then their own, as that inner fire creates drive for which some can go too far is a major source of much paranormal drama. I’ve referred to it over the years as a para-soap [opera], others have called it a para-circus. Whatever you call it everyone’s passion for the paranormal drives them. Understanding that piece of the puzzle may help you when dealing with people. Sure we don’t always agree on what’s paranormal, but to me that’s part of the journey. Focusing your passion for the paranormal or whatever you are passionate about can be a major advantage in enjoying the journey.
We all love the paranormal, hell it’s why I’m writing about it now. I’m passionate about the history I find, the places I’ve visited, the people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had, as well as all that is yet to come. This passion drives me as it creates a fire that I focus for (I hope) the betterment of the paranormal world. Passion is a beautiful thing, but will you let your passion consume you and those around you or drive you? In the end it’s your choice…
